Angie & Bill opened The Gold Mine Fine Jewelry & Gifts in 1993 with the desire to serve their customers with a different philosphy - "One of a Kind Jewelry for One of a Kind Customers"! Their goal has always been to offer unique, one of a kind jewelry & services that other jewelers didn't offer. From the start, Bill always said that he didn't want to carry the same jewelry that you see in every mall, big box store or traditional jeweler. Angie Warren - began her career in the ladies apparel industry and later became a liscensed cosmetologist. She has a "classy" design flair and after marrying Bill in 1989, was able to put that flair to use in their very own jewelry store. Angie enjoys doing the store's display work and decorating. Clients often comment on how attractively different the store is from other jewelers. Never satisfied to rest on her laurels, Angie is always changing the look of the store whether in overall layout or just simple case displays. She also enjoys buying jewelry in which she looks for unique, one of a kind items to please the store's large customer list. Angie has been named "Hudson Woman of the Year" and is a highly sought for her layout/designing advice.
Bill Warren - began his jewelry career as a child with a love of gemstones. His family owned the land on which the now famous "Hiddenite Emeralds" where discovered in Hiddenite, NC. For nearly 30 years, Bill has worked in every capacity in the jewelry business such as: goldsmith, watch repairman, appraiser plus more. Bill is the area’s only Registered Gemologist Appraiser thru the International School of Gemology assuring his customer’s of trusted knowledgeable service. Clients come to seek out Bill's advice on designing new jewelry & repair from the world over. Bill is a past president of The North Carolina Jeweler's Association. He has been recognized as a leading businessman and named "Man of the Year" by the town of Hudson. Bill love’s his customers and the community he proudly serves.
Danny Wilson - after being in the service industry for many years, Danny came to work at The Gold Mine in 2003. Danny quickly learned all aspects of store operation and has been named the store's general manager. He was also recently awarded the title of Seiko Master Class Watch Technician after careful training and examination by the Seiko Watch Company. Bill Warren, an experienced watch repairman trained Danny as a watch repair apprentice for several years and was pleased to let Danny take over all watch repair operations at The Gold Mine. Another passion of Danny's is diamonds and you'll not find a more knowledgeable diamond professional anywhere.
Lynn Stringham - brings many years of jewelry store experience to The Gold Mine! Having worked for a successful jeweler prior to us, she came to work at the Gold Mine in 2010. Lynn is a friendly & knowledgable lady who can help you with any jewelry need from the most complicated item to the simplest. Lynn is currently pursuing her Register Gemologist Diploma and has already completed certification thru the International School of Gemology in Diamonds, Pearls & Watches. She and her husband Doug are lifelong residents of Lenoir.
Tim Call - is our friendly and masterful instore goldsmith. He comes with many years of experience in the field of metallurgy and at one time was a teacher of metallurgy at Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute...needless to say, "He knows his stuff" when it comes to working on precious metals! Let Tim assist you with such things as ring sizing, custom design, chain soldering, prong retipping, stone replacements and any and all jewelry repair you may have. You'll also see him helping out on the sales floor from time to time. He is well versed in “Laser Welding” and uses the Gold Mine’s laser welder to complete the most difficult jewelry repair with ease!">
